The photographer recalled that of all the shots he took during the session, this image of the band at the building site stood out the most.

Gered Mankowitz established his first studio in Mason’s Yard in 1963, in what was to become the very heart of swinging 60s London. His skills and location brought him iconic clients like Marianne Faithfull, The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix. Throughout his career, Mankowitz has contributed to many leading magazines, and has taken prizewinning images for the advertising industry.
