Jim Morrison of The Doors is photographed during a performance at the Northern California Folk-Rock Festival at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose on May 19, 1968. After the band's residency at the legendary Whisky a Go Go and commercial success, the psychedelic frontman left the band to pursue poetry in Paris where he would later die at the age of 27.

About the Artist

Photographer and art director Ed Caraeff has worked with, photographed, designed, and art directed hundreds of album covers.  His ground-breaking photo of Jimi Hendrix burning his guitar on-stage at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, when Caraeff was just seventeen, is widely considered to be one of the most iconic rock photos of all-time and is the only photo ever to appear twice on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
