Pete Townshend of The Who kneels on stage as he smashes his Sunburst Fender Stratocaster while performing My Generation at the Opera House in Peoria, Illinois in 1967. Townshend was known for destroying his guitars on stage. It is estimated he broke over 35 guitars in 1967 alone.
