Tony McGee became a fashion photographer at the age of 16, and by 18 he had photographed covers for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. By the age of 21, his images had appeared on 25 magazine covers. He went on to work internationally for publications including British and American Vogue, Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, The Sunday Times Magazine, and Rolling Stone. His commercial work includes campaigns for L’Oréal, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, Rolex, Nivea and Chanel. During the 1980s, McGee maintained a long personal and professional collaboration with David Bowie; a portrait he took of Bowie in March 1990 is now held in the National Portrait Gallery’s Photographs Collection.
