As if on cue, the dog jumped onto the bed and stuck his tongue out. Brigitte woke with a start and began to laugh – but not before I’d taken my shot."

With more than 300 photographs and quotes from the photographer himself, The Beatles by Terry O'Neill is a unique visual portrait of the story of John, Paul, George, Ringo and the music they made. O'Neill worked with the Beatles across five decades, capturing the band at the beginning of their rise to the top and the solo years beyond. From recording sessions, rehearsals and larking around town at the height of Beatlemania, to intimate shots at weddings, at home and on tour in the solo years after the band had split, he captured countless photographs, many of which are being published for the very first time here. With a unique perspective that is both personal and professional, The Beatles by Terry O'Neill is a one-of-a-kind collection of breathtaking photographs.

A special collaboration between Walter Knabe and renowned English rock and roll photographer, Gered Mankowitz. The sixth in the collection is Billy Idol, titled "Billy 78". This edition was created using a black and white photo taken in 1978 at Mankowitz's Great Windmill Street studio in London, while shooting Billy's band Generation X for their first studio album sleeve. Mankowitz shot a series of individual portraits on his large format camera, and this shot of Billy had a simplicity and power that has proved to be timeless. Mankowitz loved this shot so much that it was used as the flagship image for his first London exhibition in 1981.

American photographer and filmmaker Michael Grecco is internationally renowned for his high concept imagery and ability to connect powerfully with his subjects, producing a body of work that encompasses everything from music and fine art to celebrity portraiture and commercial campaigns.⁣⁣He knows what it’s like to be in the thick of things, having documented the club scene in Boston and New York as punk rock emerged and mutated into the post-punk and new wave movements that dominated music between the late ’70s and early ’90s. From The Sex Pistols and The Ramones to Blondie and Talking Heads, Grecco captured in black, white and colour the raw energy, sweat, and antics that characterised the alternative of the late 20th century.⁣ In addition to shooting all the incredible images of quintessential artists from the heyday of punk music in the U.S., Grecco also provides personal "fly on the wall" anecdotes that are peppered throughout the book.
