For Record Store Day 2023, Iconic Images is thrilled to announce a new limited edition fine-art series celebrating classic album covers shot by renowned photographer Gered Mankowitz.

With only 75 of each available, Classic Covers: The Gered Mankowitz Collection comprises unique, limited-edition vinyl-sleeve-sized prints – available framed and ready to hang. These atmospheric and expertly conceived images were created when Mankowitz shot the cover art for hotly anticipated and critically acclaimed albums. Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity signed and numbered by the photographer.

An homage to the vinyl medium and a celebration of photography’s unique relationship with music, these Classic Cover prints make the perfect rare, collectible gift for lovers of sound and vision.

British mod band The Jam lurk under London's Westway overpass in an outtake from the shoot for their 1977 sophomore album This is the Modern World. Over the course of their 5 years together, the band released 18 consecutive Top 40 singles in the UK.

About the Artist

Gered Mankowitz established his first studio in Mason’s Yard in 1963, in what was to become the very heart of swinging 60s London. His skills and location brought him iconic clients like Marianne Faithfull, The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix. Throughout his career, Mankowitz has contributed to many leading magazines, and has taken prizewinning images for the advertising industry.
