This August, Iconic Images Gallery Piccadilly presents Abbey Road: Reframed, an exhibition bringing almost a century of rich music history into focus. Told in three interconnected parts, it traces the Abbey Road story through the tools behind landmark recordings, the photographers who shaped music culture, and the emerging image-makers defining its next chapter.

The Art of Recording reveals the craftsmanship and technology behind some of the world’s most influential recordings – Nile Rodgers’ production of David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon and The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band – with a rare opportunity to see photographs of items from the Abbey Road collection which have never been exhibited. Extraordinary large-format photographs uncover the marks, details and history held within the instruments, microphones, tapes and studio documents that brought musical masterworks into existence.

Iconic Image Makers turns to the photographers whose work has helped shape the visual history and mythology of Abbey Road. Featuring celebrated images by Jill Furmanovsky, Norman Parkinson and Terry O’Neill, this section explores how their unique storytelling and perspectives have informed the genres, movements and moments in music culture.

The final chapter, the Abbey Road Music Photography Accelerator, looks to the future, bringing together work by finalists and winners from Abbey Road’s Music Photography Awards. Their work reflects a range of approaches, interpreting music through energy, emotion, intimacy and context.
