The Yardbirds photographed in London, 1966 — Limited Edition Print

Gered Mankowitz

The Yardbirds in London, 1966 — Limited Edition Print

Prices begin at £2,220 / $2,400

English rock band The Yardbirds are captured outside Mankowitz's Ormond Yard Studio during a photo session in London in 1966.  The band kickstarted the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists, Eric Clapton, who left the band in 1965, his replacement Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck, the latter two of which are pictured here. By a stroke of luck, this portrait also features the symbol of the British establishment striding past wearing his bowler hat, snapped between the legs of the singer Keith Relf.
